Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Learn to Read: nothing personal — the course runs entirely in your browser.
• AI tutor preview: email, name (if provided), and the messages you exchange with the tutor.
• Voice mode: short-lived audio sent to our voice provider for processing; not retained after the session ends.
• Uploads: any file you upload (e.g. PDF) is processed in your browser or sent to the AI provider for that session only.
• Technical data: basic logs (e.g. IP, browser, timestamps) for security and reliability.

2. How we use it

To run and improve the preview service, debug issues, prevent abuse, and (with your consent) contact you about the product. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Children's privacy

Bright Spark is designed for young learners. We collect the minimum data needed and require parental consent for any user under 13.

4. Sharing & third-party processors

To deliver the service we send the minimum necessary data to a small number of third-party processors. By using Bright Spark you acknowledge and accept that the following providers may receive and process your inputs:

• ElevenLabs (voice mode and spoken lesson clips) — your microphone audio, transcripts of what you say, and any text we ask it to read out are sent to ElevenLabs's servers (US/EU) for real-time speech-to-text, conversational AI and text-to-speech. ElevenLabs may retain conversation data per its own policies; do not share information by voice that you would not want processed by a third party.
• AI model providers (e.g. Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, via the Lovable AI gateway) — the messages you type to the AI tutor, including any text you paste or extract from uploaded files, are sent to these providers to generate responses.
• Hosting & database (Lovable Cloud / Supabase, Cloudflare) — for running the site, storing waitlist signups and basic logs.

We do not sell your data. We share it only as needed to operate the preview, under the providers' standard contractual protections. You use the AI tutor and voice mode knowing your inputs leave our systems and reach these providers.

5. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing paul@brightsparktutor.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in Jersey, the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner).

6. Cookies

See our Cookie Policy. We use only essential cookies and minimal, anonymised analytics.

7. Retention

Account and conversation data is kept while the preview is active and for up to 12 months afterwards for security and product-improvement purposes, then deleted or anonymised.
